Alex’s amazing story of fixing her period and hair growth
I love Alex’s story, as it’s yet another example for how our bodies want to ovulate, and it can just take some small tweaks to get it there. It also shows that symptoms like hair growth and acne can be reversed without harsh drugs like spiro or hormonal birth control. Enjoy this amazing story of this incredible woman. Clare x
Since beginning puberty, my cycle has been irregular and difficult to manage. My primary care doctor told me at age 16 that irregularity was normal when girls first go through puberty and that my cycle should begin to regulate itself. It never really did. The summer between my freshman and sophomore year of college I saw an OB/GYN for help. I was tired of the irregularity. At that appointment, I was told I had symptoms of PCOS. The staff launched into iRead More
Alexis’ Amazing Pregnancy Journey
Words cannot start to describe how amazingly happy I was to find Clare and the protocol. I’m a midwife and nutritionist, yet there is minimal understanding within the medical community on how to manage and treat PCOS holistically – for me medications/the band-aid approach aren’t the first answer.
Babies were not my top reason for getting my PCOS under control, but with our strong family history of diabetes…I knew if I didn’t change I’d be one of the statistics. It also made it highly more likely that when the time came, my babies would likely follow down that same path – adding to the increase we’re seeing year on year.
I had lost around 20kg (42lbs) a few years prior but still felt heavy, sluggish and out of sorts. On the protocol I lost 7kg (15lbs) further (which was certainly awRead More
Anna’s Inspiring PCOS Journey
I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 28, when a GP (after seeing more than 12 GP’s across a 2-year timeframe) finally listened to my symptoms and sent me for an ultrasound as she suspected PCOS. After seeing a specialist OB/GYN (who then became my favourite and respected medical professional I have ever trusted), I was diagnosed with PCOS and Severe Insulin Resistance. It was such a relief! I finally had an answer to all of my weird and concerning symptoms…significant weight gain no matter how hard I exercised and ate well (and gee I exercised a lot), hair growing where it shouldn’t, never-ending tiredness, weird dark patches on my elbows/knees and knuckles, no period, thinning and disappearing hair and limited sex drive – was that just because I was constantly tired and overweight or waRead More
Brenda’s Inspiring 40 LB Weight Loss
Brenda ‘s story is one of my favourites, as it really shows what happens when we get all the pieces of the PCOS puzzle working together: not only diet but also exercise, supplements and mindset . One of the biggest differences came when she found the right exercise for her ‘type’. When I first met Brenda, she didn’t really enjoy exercise, because what she’s always done was cardio and high intensity workouts. But doing strength training, Brenda not only found that it had remarkable effects on her body, her blood glucose and her PCOS symptoms, but also on her enjoyment of exercise. She now looks forward to her training sessions. Enjoy this one. Clare x

CHANTELLE’S INSPIRING PROTOCOL TRANSFORMATION
Chantelle is another inspiring woman, from The PCOS Protocol, who managed to successfully reverse her PCOS. Chantelle was suffering from acne, IBS and eczema and addressed the root cause of these issues by addressing her gut health. By utilising nutrient rich local food and gentle exercise, Chantelle saw the extra pounds caused by PCOS melt away. After experiencing incredible results from The Protocol Chantelle is now enjoying a healthier and happier life.
I found out I had PCOS when I was around 19 – up until then, I hadn’t seen my period and I had horrible acne. The diagnosis scared me! In fact, I remember laying on the table, getting the ultrasound when the insensitive lab technician blurted out ‘WOW”, while examining and measuring my ovaries. When I tackled him about hisRead More
Ciara’s inspiring PCOS Journey
Let me start by telling you I’m Irish and we don’t have an idea how to make a long story short!!
We moved to England when I was 6 years old. I remember being at home on the farm in Ireland for the summer holidays about age 11, when I got my first period. I remember thinking isn’t it a bit young?! My mum was a nurse/midwife and I had grown up very aware of the birds and the bees. There is also a ten-year age gap between me and my youngest brother, and people would say I was like his second mum, he was my baby doll “who needs a tiny tears, when you have the real thing at home”.
During puberty, in the years leading up to about 14 years old, I struggled with weight gain, fatigue, ache and anxiety. I started secondary school and my periods were very irregular and I’d only getRead More
Clare’s Inspiring 54 pound weight loss
Clare is one of the most inspiring and determined women that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. From always struggling with her weight and being told that her “only hope” was to have gastric bypass surgery, to go on and lose 54 pounds in 6 months is frankly incredible. But what I think you’ll find most inspiring about Clare’s story is what else she’s gained in the process.
I’m Clare, and I’m a content editor who lives near London. I moved down here for the boy, for the love. I first was told I had PCOS when I was 12 because I’d started my period and then it stopped. By the time I reached my mid-twenties I’m still searching for whether it was what I had. I had a lot of symptoms you read about online– the hair, the weight, there’s some skin discoloration, I just thougRead More
Hallie’s wonderful PCOS journey
Eight years ago in my late twenties, my entire body seemed to go haywire as if from out of nowhere. I suddenly had crippling anxiety for no reason, acne for the first time in my life and periods so painful that I was throwing up (the months when I actually got them). I went to a dermatologist for the acne, she put me on the pill and everything seemed manageable for the most part. Over the next eight years a lot of my symptoms started to slowly creep back in and get worse. I went to the OBGYN every year for my annual check up, but she did not seem concerned.
I went off the pill in the Fall of 2016 in the hopes of getting pregnant, but instead I could not get out of bed for six months because of the incredible amount of exhaustion and brain fog I felt. I also didn’t get my period for thRead More
Jenna’s Incredible Pregnancy Story
Jenna’s pregnancy story is frankly incredible. From trying to conceive for 18 months to then getting pregnant within 3 months of starting The Protocol. I hope that it inspires all of you trying to conceive that it is absolutely possible and can happen very quickly if once we identify your PCOS ‘type’ and then implement the right lifestyle changes for you.
I’d been trying to get pregnant for 1.5 years when I was finally diagnosed with PCOS. My periods had alway been completely regular and now suddenly they were 50 days and even 60 days apart! I was very fortunate to have an amazing doctor. When I started to have irregular periods my doctor immediately did all the testing and diagnosed me with PCOS. She explained that I needed to get my BMI down and that would help regulate my perRead More
Kasey’s incredible PCOS Protocol story
Kasey is another of the amazing women in The PCOS Protocol and has an incredible story of her own journey to reversing her PCOS. Like many of you (and me!), she’s suffered from the weight gain, skin issues, bloating, sugar cravings and fatigue. But her determination to overcome this coupled with the right strategy, has seen her resolve many of these symptoms.
I was diagnosed with PCOS with insulin resistance at 16. To be honest I had no idea what that meant, and didn’t really recognise how serious it was. The only thing I do remember was the endocrinologist saying it would be difficult for me to have kids later in life.
I was immediately put on the Dianne 35 OCP and given metformin. The metformin made me so nauseous that my endocrinologist took me off it and said “eat healthy aRead More
Kaytlynn’s amazing PCOS weight-loss story
I have always struggled with my weight and painful periods from an early age (8 years old).
As a teen I was able to keep the weight off due to playing sports, however my periods were long an painful (sometimes lasting two weeks).
After high school my physical activity slowed down and my weight started to climb, I went from 200lb to 240lb in a 12 month spans (I am also 6-ft tall so the weight gain wasn’t too bad), I chalked it up to be the “Freshman 15” but for me the “Freshman 40”. I was able to keep my weight down by only eating once a day, not healthy at all. But at the time I was 20 and I was able to shed the weight and stay at a solid 210 until I graduate college.
I started my career at 22 and knew that I could afford to eat healthy and more than once a day. A year into my careeRead More
Kellie-Anne’s stunning 20lbs in 12 weeks
I have always been the type of person who if they seen a pack of biscuits the weight would just go on, never mind the fact that I constantly wanted them and found it very difficult to stick to just having one or two.
Like many of you, my weight would fluctuate up and down ever since I hit puberty but I just thought that was normal. I have ranged at my heaviest from 13 stone 10lbs to 10 stone 7lbs. I managed to lose weight for my wedding in August 2015, but that was a year long battle with some success but not as much as I hoped. The real issues occurred in August 2016 onwards when I came off my marvelon contraceptive pill.
My wedding weight was 11 stone 5lb. After that I put on a few ‘honeymoon pounds’ but nothing major.
However, the real weight gain happened after coming off
Kim’s amazing story of reversing her hair-loss
I am a 42 year old woman who has suffered with PCOS for almost 20 years, and when I say suffer, it has been a crazy journey.
I was first diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 24 when attempting to conceive unsuccessfully.
I will never forget the doctor’s words when first diagnosing me “you have PCOS, you have cysts on your ovaries and you cannot have children”.
Being so young, devastated and confused, I had no idea what to ask about reserving my PCOS. The only information I was given was that multiple cysts surrounded my ovaries which was causing infertility.
Following 5 years of fertility treatments, up & down roller coaster emotions, and prescribed Metformin which at the time was considered a “miracle” drug, I finally got pregnant and gave birth to my son.
MICHELLE’S INCREDIBLE PCOS JOURNEY
So in 2013 I was 21 years old , had just graduated from University and felt like I was finally able to enjoy life with no study commitments or schedules. I found myself no longer doing any exercise, hardly eating any healthy foods, my sleeping pattern was the worst it’s ever been and stress from work was at an all time high.
In 2014 I had begun to experience period irregularities and had visited many doctors to figure out what was causing it. However, I didn’t get a PCOS diagnosis until December of 2016.
I had never heard of PCOS before which was crazy considering how common it is! So my natural reaction was ‘Great! I finally know what is wrong and can do something to fix it’. That was until the doctor proceeded to tell me that it was a lifelong chronic condition that isn’tRead More
RACHEL’S AMAZING PREGNANCY JOURNEY
My initial PCOS diagnosis was anticlimactic. I was 19 years old and my physician told me to take birth control to manage my symptoms. I didn’t think much of it. She told me that when I was ready to have a family, I would just stop birth control and everything would be fine. If only it were that easy!
Fast forward to 30 years old. I stopped birth control and expected to immediately get pregnant. Instead, all of my PCOS symptoms came back and progressively got worse over 6 months. Night sweats. Missing periods. Acne. Facial hair. Polycystic ovaries. Fatigue. It was a nightmare. My primary care and OBGYN physicians were in disagreement regarding my PCOS diagnosis. Neither offered me any help other than Clomid for infertility. I left the OBGYN particularly upset and started to do my own resRead More
Sarah’s heart warming pregnancy success story
All of my women are special, but Sarah’s story was especially emotional for me as I knew just what they had gone through over the past few years to try and conceive. So I was ecstatic when Sarah emailed to say that she was pregnant, after only 4 months of the PCOS Protocol! It always amazes me how fast our bodies can respond to lifestyle change and I always see that periods and fertility are one of the first things to come back. The thing was though, Sarah was already eating really ‘healthily’ and she was super active. But it’s just that she needed to eat and exercise slightly differently to treat the underlying issues that were causing her hormone imbalance. I’m so super excited to see your little one Sarah!- Clare xx

Stephanie’s inspiring 5 inch weight loss
Stephanie’s story is just amazing. Like me, Stephanie was exercising herself to the ground and just kept putting on weight. But after finding what her ‘type’ was and the right diet, exercise and supplements, she found that the weight was finally coming off. She also got her period back in less than a month. This is a constant reminder to me that our body wants to ovulate- we just help it get there by fixing what’s stopping it (i.e. treating your ‘type’). Enjoy reading this inspiring story and know that this is possible for you too x
Back in spring 2016, I said yes to the wedding dress. After 4 months into planning the big day, my wedding dress said “no” to me. My 30 lb weight gain ended with my alterations lady asking “Did you gain weight?” as I tightly tried to fitRead More
Tracy’s incredible PCOS Protocol story
Tracy is one of the many inspiring women in The PCOS Protocol group, who, like me, was exercising herself to the ground thinking that this was the only way to control her weight. But as you’ll read below, she’s found a much better way and has gained so much in the process (including completely transforming her energy levels!). I can’t wait to see Tracy’s progress over the rest of The Protocol and going forward. Clare x
I was diagnosed with PCOS while in college, nearly 16 years ago. It was a confusing process. My gyno said I had hairy arms and wanted to test for PCOS. After blood work, I was sent to an endocrinologist who told me I needed to lose weight or I would end up diabetic. I had a mission! With an extremely strict diet and workout regimen I lost about 40 poRead More
