Kim’s amazing story of reversing her hair-loss

I am a 42 year old woman who has suffered with PCOS for almost 20 years, and when I say suffer, it has been a crazy journey.

I was first diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 24 when attempting to conceive unsuccessfully.

I will never forget the doctor’s words when first diagnosing me “you have PCOS, you have cysts on your ovaries and you cannot have children”.

Being so young, devastated and confused, I had no idea what to ask about reserving my PCOS. The only information I was given was that multiple cysts surrounded my ovaries which was causing infertility.

Following 5 years of fertility treatments, up & down roller coaster emotions, and prescribed Metformin which at the time was considered a “miracle” drug, I finally got pregnant and gave birth to my son.

After that, years of trying for more children did not happen and I gave up hope. During this time, I continued getting regular ultrasounds, blood work and taking Metformin based on the doctors stating it was helping my PCOS symptoms. Still not knowing what exactly PCOS was, how I got it, or if I could ever get rid of it.

But I trusted that the doctors knew what treatment was best for me, even though they were not educating me on my condition.

Fast forward to the last few years, and I started noticing that my once very thick and naturally curly long hair is falling out in chunks.

This continued over a period of 3 years, and as any woman can imagine I was in a state of panic not knowing why this was happening.

I went to countless doctors, specialists, had scalp biopsies performed, blood analysis, was misdiagnosed with Lupus and Graves disease. All of the doctors chalked it up to “stress” or “hereditary” issues. BTW… both of my parents have very thick full heads of hair in their 70’s!

Not to mention the thousands of dollars spent on scalp treatments, hair products and supplements.

During this time, I lost hope, cried daily, was embarrassed to be seen in public and got to the point of excluding myself from public outings with family and friends. I am a religious person, so I prayed for guidance in finding anyone to help me and started searching online for PCOS hair loss information.

This is when I stumbled across The PCOS Nutritionist and Protocol group website.

I quickly joined, and after 11 weeks in The PCOS Protocol, I have learned more information about PCOS, my hair loss, how I got PCOS, and what I need to reverse it, than any doctor/specialist I’ve seen in the past 20 years.

For the first time, the light bulb has gone off and things actually made sense to me, instead of listening to “doctor jargon” which always left me confused and unsure about what I needed to do.

The protocol is not easy, you have to be committed to a lifestyle change (not a diet), but it’s worth it.

Since joining the group, I sleep better, I’ve lost weight (not trying to), and noticed less hair shedding when showering which is a big deal for me.

Lastly and most importantly, joining this group has connected me with a group of women that understand exactly what I’m going through. This is PRICELESS!

If you are contemplating joining the group, know that bottom line, knowledge is power….. The PCOS Protocol gives you actual medical research information to understand your condition and what you need to do to reverse it.

For the first time in many, many years, I have hope of healing my PCOS condition.

Thank you Clare for everything you do and for your passion to help others with PCOS.
